CREI Ven was founded in 1995 as a non-profit private law Consortium by a group leading companies (Ordinary Consociates), and since the very beginning has had the support of the Padua Chamber of Commerce and constant collaboration with Padua University. In 1997, after the private management was set up, two Institutional Consociates, the CCIAA of Padua and the Consorzio Padova Ricerche, joined the Consortium. This became a mixed public and private Consortium. Since 1999, it has further expanded both in terms of technological sectors covered and the territory it compasses, with the presence of the Contributing Consociate. At the end of 2002 it finally accomplished its company status, becoming a Limited Partnership named CREI Ven - Centro Ricerca Elettronica Industriale Veneto S.c.a.r.l. (Industrial and Electronic Research Centre of Veneto), while still keeping the same objectives and activities.
