CREI VEN

History of the centre

Founded in 1995 as a non-profit-making private consortium by a group of leading companies in the Italian Veneto region, CREI Ven benefited from the start from active collaboration with Padua University.

In 1997, once the start-up phase under private management was over, the corporate structure was enhanced further by the addition of the Padua Chamber of Commerce and the Padua Research Consortium, and the company became a public-private mixed consortium.

At the end of 2002, a further change in the company´s structure took place, and it became a consortium company with limited liability, under the name of CREI Ven - Centro Ricerca Elettronica Industriale Veneto S.c.a.r.l.; the purpose of its activities remained essentially unchanged.

CREI Ven still represents today one of the few and most accomplished models of a consortium that thrives on the interaction and collaboration between companies and universities. We benefit from our collaborations with Padua University, with the Galileo Science and Technology Park, with local research bodies and with certifying bodies.
